Bye Bye Americans soll man immer öfter dort hören
"We rushed to the site and found two cars
burning, one American and one Iraqi. US troops pulled
out from the vehicle four soldiers."
Some eyewitnesses to the blast told the BBC they
were pleased by the attack on a US target.
"They really have very little sympathy for the
American fatalities," said the BBCs Magdi
Abdelhadi from the scene.
Mohammad Owdeh, a local resident, told Reuters:
"These explosions are a message to the
Americans because they have done nothing for the
Iraqi people. There will be more and more
explosions."
Our correspondent said the US military had
cordoned off the area close to the university in the
al-Mustansiriya district to carry out an
investigation.
"There are a number of armoured vehicles with
soldiers on top of them, with the guns pointing in
various directions," said Magdi Abdelhadi.
"I can see the remains of the military vehicle
that was attacked with hardly anything left of it
really. Its
completely burnt out and next to it there is a
lorry that is also burnt out."
